Plastic Free Plymouth
The Plastic Free Plymouth Campaign
Were you inspired by Blue Planet II? We were and on 11th December 2017, we decided to work with the Surfers Against Sewage to gain Plastic Free Community status for the city.
We achieved the status for the Waterfront area in June 2018 ad then went on to gain citywide status a year later in June 2019. We now work closely with SAS and with the citywide Plan for Plastic to tackle single-use plastic wherever possible.
Helping us out we have over 118 businesses (our Pioneers), 116 Community Groups and individuals (our Ambassadors) and over 40 schools (our Champions).
This page provides all you’ll need to take part – the pledge form we’d love you to sign up to, details of our workshops and events, a Directory of Alternatives to Plastic with a local twist and links to both the SAS campaign and the Plymouth Plan for Plastics.
If you’d like to become a Pioneer, Ambassador or Champion, have a think about the three single-use plastics you can eliminate from daily use and three things you could do to take your commitment even further and then fill in the attached Pledge and send it back to us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Environment Plymouth is a partner in Plymouths Plastic Free Task Group and leads on the Action Theme in the city’s Plan for Plastics.
