Sustainable City
Sustainable City
Plymouth has always led the way in sustainable development at every level – from the ‘For Generations Ahead’ Local Agenda 21 Plan published in 2000 to its role in advising the UK Government on urban sustainability for the national Sustainable Development Strategy published in 2004.
In recent years much of the community engagement on sustainability has died down but it is still as relevant as ever. Working with Urban Dialogues at the University of Plymouth we are reviewing the 2000 Community Statement to see how far we have come. What’s been done to improve the city’s sustainability and what is still needed.
This Group will over see events planned for the Research Week in January 2020 and further engagement in years to come.
